My name is Jess. I’m a queer, autistic, twenty-something nerd, and currently a college student.
One of my special interests is history, and I process information by writing, so I decided to make a blog to post the writings in the hopes that other people can learn what I’ve learned. I also have a Tumblr, which I use to shamelessly promote this blog, and I spend a lot of time on Quora. Some of my material here is based on past Quora posts.
A few notes on content:
– I will not discuss war crimes in too much depth, including the Holocaust. I’m not denying that these things happen; I just don’t like to talk about them, because I would rather be able to sleep at night.
– Because I’m pedantic about Japanese (I have an N3-level certificate okay?), Japanese and Chinese names will be written with the family name first, in modern orthography whenever possible. For the same reasons, I refer to emperors by their regnal names in accordance with Japanese custom, except when referring to their pre-regnal years.
– If you dislike any of the topics I choose or the way I cover them, please be civil in expressing your disagreement. Otherwise you are cordially invited to fight me. Meet me in the Wal-Mart parking lot at midnight, scrub.
